摘要

Dry machining is a machining process without coolant and it has more popular as a finishing process. The purpose of this paper was to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between cutting data and surface integrity, in terms of surface roughness [Ra], during dry machining with CBN cutting tool in En31 hardened steel. In present study L27 orthogonal array test plan was used. Experimental data are tested with artificial neural network [ANN] technique. Multilayer perceptron model has been constructed with back propagation algorithm using input parameters of speed, feed and depth of cut. Output parameter is surface roughness [Ra]. On completion of the experiment test, an ANN are used to validate the results obtained and predict the behavior of the system under any condition.
