Pickart's Radiator Service has grown 10 times over in the past 27 years, and it's all thanks to heavy-duty work. When John Booth, a mechanic, purchased Pickart's Radiator Service, Fond du Lac, Wis., in 1980 he thought the shop looked like every other radiator shop in the nation. He describes it as "your typical crummy dump located on a side street off the beaten path." It was 1,300 square feet and was opened by Frank Pickart some time in the 1940s. He owned and operated the facility for 16 years until his brother-in-law and sister took it over and ran it for another 16 years until Booth purchased it.
