The flow and conjugate heat transfer in a cylindrical cavity with a rotating disk and fluid through-flow is analysed at various rotational speeds by using a finite volume code. The numerical model and code are validated against published results for a problem, which involves rotation and fluid through-flow. An increase in the heat transfer coefficients is observed with increase in the rotational speed. Marked differences are noticed between the Nusselt numbers obtained with the conjugate and constant temperature boundary conditions. The relative effects of conjugate and constant temperature boundary conditions on the rotating disk are shown using a correlation involving the Nusselt numbers for both the cases.
