摘要

This work concerns the development of a numerical method based on the stream function formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations to simulate two-dimensional - plane or axisymmetric - viscous flows. The main features of the proposed method are: the use of the high order finite-difference compact method for the discretization of the stream function equation, the implicit pseudo-transient Newton-Krylov-multigrid matrix free method for the stationary stream function equation and the fourth order Runge-Kutta method for the integration of non-stationary flows.
