Allelopathic Potential of Aqueous Extracts of Lantana camara with Raphanus sativus

摘要

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of aqueous extracts of leaves and roots of Lantana camara on the morpho- physiological attributes of different cultivars of Raphanus sativus. The study revealed that the L. camara is highly phytotoxic for cultivars of R. sativus except that, somehow, the low concentration of the aqueous solution is very negligible stimulatory for shoot length, root length, plumule growth and seed germination speed for the cultivar MICO-11. The higher concentrations of the aqueous extracts have very high inhibitory effects for both the cultivars (MICO-11 and MELW) of R. sativus. The inhibitory effects increase with the increasing concentrations of the aqueous solution. Overall, the root extract has higher impact of phytotoxicity than the leaves extract.
