The contribution of Benediktos Adamantiades in the description of the Behcet's disease.

Benedict Adamantiades (Figure 1), an important physician in Greece in the first half of the last century, was born from Greek parents in Prousa, Asia Minor in 1875. He finished the medical studies in the University of Athens and then he was qualified as Opthalmologist in Paris. Later, he was appointed as director of the Opthalmology Department of "Hippocration" Hospital of Athens where he offered his clinical service and developed most of his scientific activities.
