Studies on mortality pattern in adult crossbred cattle are scanty compared to vast amount of information available either in crossbred calves (Kaushik et al., 1980; 1982; Agarwal et al., 1995; Roy et al., 1997) or in other young livestock (Das, 1997; Peer et al., 1998). Frieswal strain of cattle is being produced by Project Directorate on Cattle (PDC), in collaboration with Military Dairy Farms through crossing of Holstein Friesian (HF) with Sahiwals. The present investigation has been undertaken to analyse the patterns of mortality in Frieswal cattle due to various reasons.
