Engineering's female stars

Being a Woman Engineer is no big deal, being an Engineer is. From an early age I preferred to help my Dad rather my Mum but I was never pressurised either way. My surprise is that more women do not enter into the profession. In my experience engineers are by their very nature analytical, pragmatic and reasonable. They tend to make judgments on ability rather than generaL prejudice. I have encounteredprejudice as a woman in all walks of my life but I have never been troubled by the glass ceilings which we hear about in other professions. I believe that we need to re-develop the industry and traditions that were once the foundations of this country. To do this we need to take the best peop:e, irrespective of gender, and reap the benefits of the balance that a female perspective brings.
