Explosion at Maryhill

Nine people died, and many were injured, as a result of the explosion at the Glasgow factory of ICL Plastics on 11 May 2004. A badly corroded service pipe, feeding LPG at medium pressure from a storage tank, leaked and gas entered the basement of the factory. The explosion which occurred caused the collapse of the major part of the factory building.
