As a clinical scientist & cell biologist, you have had more than 25 years of experience in translationai & clinical research in breast cancer - what started your research interest in this field? Although I am reluctant to say this, it has been longer than 25 years! I was in medical school at the University of Missouri (MO, USA) between 1968 and 1972 and at that time I was curious about science and I wanted to spend some time in a research laboratory. I worked in the laboratory of the Chairman of the Department of Medicine who was a hematologist/ oncologist. I think that experience in Dr Chuck Mengel's laboratory got me interested in research, and in cancer as well
