A fully automated, cleanroom-compatible, inline system specially designed for split-second removal, stacking, and packing of Petri dishes has been developed by Germany's Hekuma GmbH, represented in North America by Autotec Inc. (Sylvania, OH). Its side-entry robot reportedly can remove lids and dishes from 12-by 12-cavity molds in about 4 seconds with tender loving care, using custom-built vacuum EOAT. Production of up to 7200 sets per hour, including packaging, is guaranteed.
