Brady Hopes To Release Customs Reauthorization Bill Proposal 'Soon'

House Ways and Means trade subcommittee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) late last week announced that he hopes he can "soon" release a draft customs reauthorization bill for comment by stakeholders. According to Brady, the forthcoming draft will include legislation sponsored by Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA) that seeks to curb the evasion of trade remedy duties. "I've looked at a broad range of ideas in this area, and I believe that Dr. Boustany is hitting exactly the right balance that's both effective and achievable," Brady said at a Nov. 16 event sponsored by the Global Business Dialogue and the law firm McDermott Will & Emery.
