Apropos 'Isolation of Salmonella typhi from apparently healthy liver'

We compliment the investigators at the Banaras Hindu University in India for their isolation and molecular characterization of Salmonella typhi in post-mortem hepatic tissues (Nath et al., 2011). Prospective search for S. typhi 16s rDNA and fliC at Banaras (Nath et al., 2011) or elsewhere should better incorporate hepatic tissues removed during different surgical procedures as well as the hepatic biopsy tissues.
