Many medical consumables need to be manufactured under ISO standard cleanroom conditions, but assembly in cleanroom environments makes stringent requirements of automation equipment. The first challenge is to operate without risk of contaminating the environment. In addition, many processes are characterised by press-fit operations with particularly small joining forces or test operations that are especially sensitive, requiring high accuracy and controlled dynamic characteristics.
