JDCPhosphate's improved hard process could 'transform the phosphate industry'

An improved hard process (IHP) beneficiation technique being developed by Florida, US-based, JD-CPhosphate Inc. could cut costs for phosphoric acid producers by 30% or more, the company told IM. JDC's CEO, Theodore (Tip) Fowler, is sure that other companies will consider their technology, telling IM: "If we are able to demonstrate the cost advantage and the ability to expand reserves- which we are confident we will - the low cost [option] will always win."
