Leading world paper producer Stora Enso is to upgrade and modernise the paper machine and increase sheeting capacity at its fine paper mill in Suzhou, China. The 38m euros. expansion project is scheduled for completion in September 2005 and will see paper capacity increase by 75,000 tpa to 240,000 tpa. Imerys is the sole supplier of GCC to the Suzhou mill from its Wuhu plant in Nanling. Imerys VP Asia-Pacific division Jonathan Wilson said of the planned expansion, "we are able to supply any demand that Stora Enso may have now or in the future for pigments at the Suzhou mill. we look forward to a continued strong relationship with Stora Enso".
