摘要

The withering of leaf plays, as said earlier, the most critical role in developing the levels of the final quality aspects of the packed tea. It is therefore very important to monitor and control this process as precisely as possible. However, it would be generally seen that there is not much serious attention paid in preparing a total quality control management (TQM), manpower allocation to satisfy the required intensity of supervision with respect to supervisory and quality monitoring personnel, procurement of even presently available monitoring instruments for use both in the Withering equipment and also by the controlling personnel, to name a few. That the most critical period of this process takes place between dusk and dawn of a working day compounds the issue further, since the loading of troughs finishes in the early hours of the night only, irrespective of an own plantation factory or a bought leaf factory.
