A Press Conference on the Progress of Fur Animal Welfare in China has been held by China Leather Industry Association in Beijing on April 16, 2015. As the largest country in the world in terms of mink, fox and raccoon breeding as well as fur processing. China has come under fire due to malpractice during the breeding of fur-bearing animals, bringing negative impact on the whole industry. On behalf of the entire industry, China Leather Industry Association has organized this Press Conference to give a briefing on the progress of animal welfare and has announced the "Declaration of Progressive Promotion of Civilized Breeding and Improving Animal Welfare" which has publicly indicated the clear stance of the Government and the fur industry towards civilized breeding and animal welfare, and has gained wide attention from both domestic and foreign media.
