Therapeutic management of chronic canine ehrlichiosis using oxy tetracycline

Therapeutic efficacy of oxytetracycline given intravenously was seen in German Shepherd dogs with chronic ehrlichiosis. Recovery was observed in 80% (12/15) dogs and 20% (3/15) dogs died after receiving single parenteral injection of oxytetracycline.Hence, intravenous administration of oxytetracycline proved effective in early recovery of dogs with chronic ehrlichiosis.
