Just a couple of years ago, if anyone had suggested that a company as Franco-centric as Peugeot would very soon choose a Chinese launch pad to show a concept for a Range Rover rival, you'd have said they were dreaming. If they'd further asserted that this new off-roader would be entirely the work of a 1500-strong Chinese design and engineering team operating in China, that it would use a brand new palette of design cues and ditch most of the baggage of the past, and that the idea was to target a fast-expanding group of affluent SUV buyers in China, you'd have said they had truly departed the realms of reality.
