Range Rover: The Range Rover is a mighty fine car, but it must deliver feelgood luxury in the daily grind to merit a near-£100k billing. So will it?
In a way, it was a homecoming. The first Range Rover that I took delivery of was very different from this - a fifth-hand, J-plate two-door petrol V8 made so far back along the model pipeline that it didn't even have power steering - yet I remember loving the notion of joining the Range Rover community so much that I needed to have those special feelings again. Most aspects of today's Range Rover have changed since those days, but not its place in the automotive firmament. It's still at the top of the luxury car tree, delivering comfort, driving ease and a sense of wellbeing in that sophisticated but unthreatening way it always does.
