Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi4WD: 2.9.09, Vienna - Korean brand gives its range-topper a radical rethink

UNDER THE DIRECTION of its design guru Peter Schreyer, Kia has completely transformed its four-wheel-drive figurehead in a bid to broaden its appeal. The Kia Sorento's body-on-frame construction, low-range transfer box and live rear axle have all gone, replaced by a monocoque that brings benefits in weight saving and crash safety. The car recently scored five stars in the EuroNCAP tests.
