McLaren revises MP4-12C

The McLaren MP4-12C has been comprehensively upgraded just a year after going on sale. New features include a 25bhp power increase to 616bhp from its twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8, a recalibrated seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and a retuned Intake Sound Generator (ISG) system that creates greater "aural drama" in the cabin, according to McLaren. Many of the changes are the result of direct customer feedback following the sale of just under 1000 MP4-12Cs. The upgrades will come as standard on all new MP4-12Cs delivered from October, and most of the upgrades can also be fitted retrospectively to existing owners' cars at McLaren dealerships for no cost.
