Jaguar comes in from the cold

Profits are up, sales in emerging markets are up, investment is up and now bold plans are afoot. Tata Motors CEO Cari-Peter Forster believes that now is the time to "invest and expand" in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on the back of its ￡1.04 billion profits announced last week. The profits, on sales of ￡9.9bn, closely followed a successful ￡1bn bond sale and even forced Ford chairman Bill Ford to deny that the ￡1.4bn sale of the company to Tata in 2008 had been "a mistake".
