Are showroom 'VIP events' really a good way of finding a better deal? I didn't realise it until the other day, but I'm a VIP. I know so because a car dealer told me, in the course of inviting me to a VIP event where they would be as good as giving cars away. At least, that's the impression they give. This invitation was a legacy of a year-old used car shopping trip in which I stupidly left my details. Actually, I don't mind leaving my details, because so many showrooms are completely inept at the art of the follow-up. That's a digression, though, because what I need to know is this: what is so special about these VIP events?
