FINAL REPORT In the past nine months and 13,000 miles, our three-pot petrol Cooper has emphatically shown that the latest Mini's more grown-up approach is nothing but a good thing. When the third-generation BMW Mini arrived in my possession nine months ago, many questions needed answering. Would Mini's trademark driving fun be maintained with a platform that also had to be used beneath models such as BMW's MPVs? What would the new three-cylinder engine be like? Had BMW finally made the Mini more practical and everyday usable? Would the cabin still have charm despite becoming all grown-up? Had BMW taken its eye off the ball and ignored its core three-door hatch while developing so many other disparate Mini bodystyles?
