Baby P13 next for McLaren: As the 650S is unveiled, McLaren finalises its smaller entry-level P13, with the ￡300k P15 to follow

McLaren has already put most of the finishing touches to its new Porsche 911 rival, codenamed P13, even though the model is still many months from its launch. The P13 is the next model that McLaren is set to launch after the new 650S coupe and Spider models, which were unveiled at the Geneva motor show. Insiders report that the P13's styling is said to be "more E-type than it is F-type". That is understood to be a reference to the fact that its appearance will be as elegant as it is technical, with more than a nod to the original McLaren M6 GT from the 1960s. Both coupe and Spider versions will be made. Under its "beautiful" new skin, the P13 will use a version of the 12C's carbonfibre chassis, but the whole car will be lighter and more compact than the12C.
