摘要

The centrifugal casting process is quite recognised for castings which are round-shaped with specific length. Usually, castings like hollow pipes or sleeve and castings like cylinder liners are produced by this process with almost 100% yield as there is no gating system in the mould used. This process can be used for metals having maximum melting point like steels, grey cast iron, and ductile iron. In non-ferrous metals, it is used for copper alloys, aluminium alloys, bearing metals and parts which are symmetric around axis. Centrifugal casting process was the invention of Alfred Krupp, who used it first time for the production of cast steel tyres for railway wheels in 1852.
