摘要

This study was conducted to evaluate germination and seed-borne fungi in five tree species (Albizia lebbeck, Bombax ceiba, Cassia siamea, Prosopis juliflora and Tamarindus indica). The results indicated that all the five tested species germinated best at 30+or-2 degrees C, which was observed to be an ideal temperature for seed germination. The potting media used also played an important role in germination as seeds have characteristic requirements of certain amount of moisture and oxygen. A total of 18 fungi species were isolated from the seeds. Maximum species of fungi were recorded in A. lebbeck (15 species), followed by P. juliflora (13 species) and B. ceiba (12 species)..
