In 2006, the 'Winegrowing Futures' program was established at Charles Sturt University, in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. Resulting from a joint partnership between the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre (NWGIC) and the Grape and Wine Research andDevelopment Corporation (GWRDC), the program encompassed a number of research areas including vine health and the environment, multi-seasonal impactsonvineproductivity and grape composition, optimising resource use and protecting the environment, matching wine composition to consumers and knowledge management, and industry capacity building.
