摘要

Rainfed rice ecologies accounting 23 million ha areas suffer from poor productivity of 0.6-1.20 tonne/ha only. Besides improved varieties, soil quality management needs to be envisaged in right perspective for yield sustainability. The fertilizer management alone can not suffice to sustain the soil quality; instead, it is imperative to follow integrated plant nutrient management (IPNM) constituting both management of micronutrients and organic/green manures alongwith chemical fertilizer management.
