摘要

The incidence of mung bean yellow mosaic bigeminivirus (MBYMV) was higher in mung bean [Vigna radiata] crops raised from Rhizobium peat culture treated seeds, whereas the severity of MBYMV infection was higher in untreated crops. Significant differences were observed in shoot length, root length, number of rootlets, number and dry weight of nodules at 30, 45 and 60 days after sowing within the treatments. The yield loss of grains/plant due to MBYMV infection was 81.66% in plants raised from untreated seeds, whereas it was only 64.2% in plants raised from Rhizobium treated seeds. The nitrogen content in both roots and shoots of the diseased plants was higher than that in the healthy plants irrespective of rhizobial treatment. The total nitrogen content in the rhizosphere soil of Rhizobium treated healthy and diseased plants was higher than that in the untreated.
