Bismuth(III) nitrate pentahydrate — An efficient catalyst for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes under mild conditions

摘要

Bismuth (III) nitrate pentahydrate BN has been used successfully for the electrophilic condensation of indole with a wide range of aldehydes to obtain bis(indolyl)mefhanes at ambient temperature. The methodology has the advantages of usage of inexpensive catalyst, short reaction time and mild reaction work up.
