Ted Turner has land, lots of land. His Flying D Ranch in southwest Montana, just north of Yellow Stone National Park, covers 113,500 acres, more than the land used for Norfolk's entire sugar beet crop. The ranch generates its principle income from its 6000 head of bison and hunting facilities. Despite the increasing pressure from surrounding developments, it remains protected open space by virtue of a conservation easement donated to the Nature Conservancy in 1989.
