Last year was a pivotal one for wholesale and retail markets. Despite the uncertainty of a shift towards economic recession, it was also a year when food markets clearly demonstrated their position as major contributors and competitors within the fooddistribution chain. In the past 13 years I cannot recall a time when so many members of the World Union of Wholesale Markets were as visible as they are today. Nor can I remember a time when their worth was as appreciated. This recognition isn't only being noticed at local and national level, it's a movement rippling through regional and international spheres as well.
