摘要

My first reaction when I read about Open Farm Sunday was not very grown up. But with summer on the way, and my farm about to host ramblers, bikers, cyclists, balloonists, horse-riders and National Trust visitors who can't follow brown sign-posts evenif their lives depended on it, I couldn't help but ask: "Any chance a Closed Farm Sunday?" Fortunately, my neighbours, Joanna and Mark, are a bit more mature. They threw themselves into the whole idea with astonishing vigour. Signs went up on the roadsides, and posters appeared here, there and everywhere. "Good for them," I thought, feeling slightly ashamed for not doing anything to help.
