Microwave mediated rapid and efficient synthesis of aryl methyl ketones and beta-keto esters from acyl Meldrum's acid by hydrolysis and alcoholysis,respectively,has been reported.Green chemistry involves the design and redesign of chemical synthesis and chemical products to prevent pollution and thereby solve the environmental problems.
