Microwave assisted synthesis and antifungal activity of 1,2,4-triazine,1,2,4-triazole,tetrazole and pyrazole derivatives

The condensation reactions of 2-hydrazino-4-methylquinoline with diethyl xoalate,ethyl bromoacetate,aromatic aldehydes, acetic anhydride, nitrous acid and different acetophenones followed by DMF and POCI_3 under microwave irradiation and by conventional methods are described. THe reaction rate is enhanced tremendously under microwave irradiation as compared to conventional method with improved yields. All the newly synthesised compounds have been screened for antifungal activity against fungi A. niger and A.flavous
