The production of N and P2O5 at 1.063 and 0.386 million tonnes during October 2011 witnessed marginal decline of 0.5% and 0.3%, respectively, over October 2010. Among the major fertiliser products, the production of urea and DAP registered decline of 1% and 13.3%, respectively, during October 2011 over October 2010. The production of SSP and NP/NPKs, however, recorded increase of 1.1% and 4.9%, respectively, during the period. Production of N surpassed the target by 51.2 thousand tonnes, while P2O5 fell short by 47.1 thousand tonnes during October 2011. The capacity utilisation of N reduced marginally from 103.9% during October 2010 to 103.4% during October 2011. However, the capacity utilization of P2O5 at 75.3% during October 2011 remained almost same at the previous year's level.
