The production of fertiliser nutrients during January 2011 showed increase over January 2010. The production of N at 1.078 million tonnes and P2O5 at 0.362 million tonnes during January 2011 registered increase of 1.3% and 12.5%, respectively, over January 2010. Among the major fertilisers, while Urea and SSP recorded marginal increase of 0.4% each during January'11 over January'10, the production of DAP increased significantly by 65.6% during the period. However, the production of NP/NPK's showed decline of 10.3% during the same period. Production of N and P2O5 fell short by 32.7 and 57.2 thousand tonnes, respectively, during January 2011. The capacity utilisation of N improved marginally from 105.9% during January 2010 to 106%) during January 2011. The capacity utilisation of P2O5 went up from 62.7% to 71.7% during the period.
