Mass Contact Programme in Eastern Giris

A Mass Contact Programme (MCP) was conducted for the benefit of coffee growers in the Eastern Giris Liaison zone during December 2011 /January 2012. During the first phase, 161 soil samples were collected from 56 estates from 19th to 27th December 2011. The samples were analysed at the CCRI and the analytical report sent to the growers. The second phase of the MCP was conducted from 23rd to 25th January 2012. During this phase, three teams consisting of Liaison staff were formed and they visited 85 estates for discussion with the grower about the problems phased in coffee cultivation and advisory based on the soil test report.
