Modular PLC provides a control solution in a sticky situation

Making sticks for ice lollipops from wood is a complex task. Lollipop stick manufacturer, Karl Otto Knauf, has chosen a PLC from Moeller Electric, used in conjunction with the SmartWire panel wiring system, to control its stick-punching machine. Lollipop sticks made from beech wood are used in vast quantities by ice-cream manufacturers. However, making these ordinary-looking little sticks is quite a complex task, and as such they are usually made by specialist suppliers, such as Karl Otto Knauf, rather than the ice-cream manufacturers themselves.
