Momentum and energy laminar boundary layers of a power-law non-Newtonian fluid with and without thermal radiation over a non-isothermal moving surface under the action of a transverse magnetic field B(x) have been investigated. The governing partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations by a similarity transformation. The variations of dimensionless surface temperature as well as the flow and heat transfer characteristics with various values of the magnetic parameter M, the power-law index n, the Prandtl number a, the radiation parameter NR and the wall temperature parameter m arc graphed and tabulated. Two cases are studied, namely, i) the sheet with prescribed surface temperature (PST case) and ii) the sheet with prescribed heat flux (PHF case), ft was found that the magnetic parameter M has a relevant effect on both velocity and temperature profiles. Increasing the magnetic parameter will increase temperature and reduce the heat transfer rate.
