In this paper we introduce a new class of states, that is two-modenondegenerate entangled states. We employ the second-order correlation function to discuss some nonclassical properties of the photon distribution of the state. Further-more we use the quadrature variances to examine the behaviour of the phenomenon of squeezing. Also our discussion is extended to include the quasi-probability distri-bution functions (Wigner and Q-functions). The quadrature distribution as well as the quasi-phase in addition to Pegg-Barnett phase are considered. The covariance for both phases is also examined for a range of the state parameters. It is shown that the cross-correlation function is sensitive to any variation in the q-parameter (the photon number difference).
