A novel dev't in liquid feeding in the Netherlands

Nipple drinkers are being used on some units in the Netherlands to bring liquid feed materials to growing and finishing pigs. It is the latest development in arapid expansion of liquid feeding by Dutch producers, who are currently estimated to have about one million pigs on wet diets. The estimate comes from a survey conducted by feed-by-products supplier Bonda's Veevoederbureau through its salesmen visiting farms nationwide. Rene Schepens, sales manager of the company's pig division, reports that the information compiled on clients and prospects has identified a total of 550 units in the Netherlands with a liquid feeding system.
