Legazpi City - The Bicol abaca industry, which produced not only a few millionaires in the region before getting entwined in a bale of problems, is slowly weaving a comeback as a major economic undertaking of the Bicolanos. And the prospects are bright. For one, Fiber Development Authority (Fida) administrator Joaquin Teotico has sent word to local industry leaders that the Inter-govemmental Group on Hard Fibers and the United Nations Industrial Development Orga-nization (Unido) has agreed to raise the world benchmark prices for abaca fibers from a range of 80-116 dollar to 128-185 dollar per bale.
