I have been using a small-scale hard rock mining setup for over 10 years now. It is self-contained in that all the water used to wash the ore and run my shaker table is easily recycled without spillage on the floor. A bit of serious searching enabled me to find and purchase the neces-sary equipment for less than $2,500. The ads in ICMJ's Prospecting and Mining Journal are an excellent starting place to begin your search for the equipment described in this article. Of course, modifications and the making of needed attachments to my equipment continue to improve the system.
