Being the primary interface between vehicle and occupant, the seat design is a central aspect of overall vehicle design. Seat design starts with defining the occupant space within the vehicle chassis. The H point is the key reference that ties the occupant position to the rest of the vehicle interfaces, such as pedals, steering wheel, line of sight, seat belt anchorages and air bag location and operation.
