The relatively new form of motor sport of drifting is extreme in the amount of stress placed on the vehicle's drive train and suspension - and of course the tyres. The sport has spread very quickly around the world and with that growth has evolved the technology required to build the perfect drift car. While the uninitiated may simply view drifting as legal tyre burnouts, there are regulations and competition judging guidelines. Located in the Adelaide Hills, Garage7 is a leading performance workshop specialising in the development and modification of imported Japanese cars for drifting and other types of motor sport. Co-owner Declan Walsh, who started the business in 2008 with partner Luciano Notari, said drifting is a unique form of motor sport and has its own complexities.
