There was a substantial post-nesting migration, in particular for Red Kite Milvus milvus, Common Crane Grus grus, Stock Dove Columba oenas and Common Wood Pigeon Columba palumbus, Woodlark Lullula arborea and Willow Warbler Phylloscopus trochilus. There was a much smaller migration of Eurasian Skylark Alauda arvensis, Brambling Fringilla montifringilla, Eurasian Tree Sparrow Passer montanus and various Fringillidae. Numerous Common Buzzards Buteo buteo were noted, Great White Egrets Casmerodius albus and Common Kingfisher Alcedo atthis which were however affected by the previous winter. With a few exceptions (for example Eurasian Bittern Botaurus stellaris), water birds were scarce up to the end of November. With the marked drop in temperature at the end of the season there were more arrivals of Gadwall Anas strepera, Common Pochard Aythya ferina and Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula; and many Mew Gulls Larus canus.A notable point this autumn was the large number of species, mostly forest dwellers, coming from Scandinavia: chronologically Eurasian Jay Garrulus glandarius, Coal Tit Parus ater and Eurasian Blue Tit Parus caeruleus (incidentally Great Tit Parus major), Goldcrest Regulus regulus, some of the Scandinavian subspecies of the Eurasian Treecreeper Certhia familiaris ssp. familiaris, Rough-legged Buzzard Buteo lagopus, Bohemian Waxwing Bombycilla garrulus, the nominal subspecies of Long-tailed Tit Aegithalos caudatus, Common Crossbill Loxia curvirostra, Common Redpoll Carduelis flammea and Bullfinch Pyrrhula pyrrhula.Various other rarities added some spice this autumn: in particular, the three sightings of Short-toed Snake Eagle Circaetus gallicus at the beginning of September, the visit of a young European Shag Phalacrocorax aristotelis in September, and a series of sightings of Lapland Longspurs Calcarius lapponicus, a long list of rare migrants at the beginning of October (a Greater Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga, a Red Phalarope Phalaropus fulicarius, an Arctic Tern Sterna paradisaea, three Red-throated Pipits Anthus cervinus, a Barred Warbler Sylvia nisoria and three Yellow-browed Warbler Phylloscopus inornatus). Later in the season, two Richard's Pipits Anthus richardi, two Twites Carduelis flavirostris, a Hooded Crow Corvus cornix, a Snow Bunting Plectrophenax nivalis, a Great Northern Loon Gavia immer and a Horned Grebe Podiceps auritus.
